Munster

The Kielty Clan is an important part of the Dalcassian Clan, and a significant part of the Kielty experience.

To understand more about the relationship between our family name and the Kings of Munster please go to the Dalcassian Clan web site. The Dalcassian race has many great families, our relationship with the O Brien Family is key to understanding our history. Also our relationship with the O Dea Clan and the Quinn Clan should be explored to fully understand our heritage.

Kielty Clan Association News And Information

11/17/07 - The Kielty boys, James, John and Gerald are back in the news after winning the Highland Quest Musical Competition they are preparing for their Opening of the Sandowe and A Scottish Tour, also a 3 part BBC program. You can check out the complete Article From Scotland on Sunday below at

Raising the dead by MARK FISHER “SO THIS is the theater that we've won," deadpans John Kielty as he and his brother Gerry pose for pictures on a staircase in the revamped Eden Court. In truth, their prize is more modest, though no less prestigious. As authors of The Sundowe, they are the winners of the Highland Quest, a Cameron Mackintosh-backed musical competition that attracted 130 entries from all over the world. As well as a world premiere at the Inverness theater, the brothers have won themselves a Scottish tour (part of Highland 2007) and a three-part BBC documentary. If the musical proves a hit, this will be only the start of the story.

We all wish them continued success and look forward to hearing more about them.

I will miss john, his great sense of humor, and I will always treasure the example he set for me over the years.

Would like to contact Kielty/Keelty/ Kelty members whose ancestors are from Ballymote, Co Sligo, Ireland. Michel Keilty left there abt 1845 for USA, thru Ontario. Settled in Lockport NY with children Anna, Mary, Bridget, Patrick, Hanna and Margaret. Thanks! 10/25/06 Kielty Clan - Many of you have asked questions about clan tartans, I have received an e-mail from Mike O’Brien ( Clan O’Brien ) that I will post on the Clan Dress Page as Information hope it helps.  My feeling is that we should settle on a color for Clan Kielty if we choose to go to a solid color tartan in addition to the Quinn Tartan shown on the page which you can also use

10/24/06 Kielty Clan, just wanted to let everyone know that I have reestablished both the hit counter and the Guestbook.  I have left the restriction on anyone being able to access responses to the guest book as I still get an inappropriate comment or language that is improper for a family rated site. I will however put anything that seems appropriate on the news page.  Thanks

10/20/06 Kielty Clan - As information I have upgraded the software for the Clan Site and reformated much of it. You will notice that there are some blank spots, these will be filled in soon. Additionally you will notice that there are fewer main page buttons, look at the bottom of relevant pages for links to these pages. I am going to reformat this page, and bring the news more current. Again if any of you have something to share regarding the family please let me know and I will add it to the page

10/20/06 Clan Members I would also like to appologize to all of you for not keeping the site up to date. Many of you have sent me information to update the site with and I have been unable to do this because of a serious illness and the associated regimine of medication over the last 14 months. I am now updating and will let all of you know by e-mail when I have completed this.
